  1. Past hour
  2. Hoping it’s evenings. Watching Christine and Marla respectively anchor the 5pm and 6pm solo is awful. Christine is great and an LA icon and would pair well with Glen.
  3. Today
  4. Looking at his social media since he was let go by KTLA, he seems like he'd feel more at home somewhere like Newsmax...
  5. After nearly four years, this is Kirstin O'Connor's last week on KXLY's airwaves. It also sounds like she's done with TV news after 14 years in the business. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1443001060966341&id=100057693836031
  6. KAKE uses the First Alert moniker
  7. To be fair, it doesn't seem like too much talent is being shuffled here. Pre-9am assignments appear to be unchanged, though some were off today. Chicago Now ending doesn't really move the needle, and Tia and Anita simply traded Chicago Report and GDC at 9. Unclear if Scafidi is permanent at 11am, but Sylvia was gone so long and Terrence has now been there for months, so there's continuity there.
  8. KTVQ, the flagship station of the Montana Television Network (MTN) also seems to be close to rolling out the new look too as evidenced by their new video thumbnails.
  9. Former KTLA anchor Glen Walker has been hired by FOX 11 and on his Instagram page, there is a picture of him right in front of the FOX Television Center on Bundy Drive in West LA. He will most likely be on in the evenings, but we shall see what happens.
  10. Latest finds from Salt Lake City: KSL 5 Eyewitness News at 10PM, 11/7/03 KTVX ABC 4 News at 5 open, 5/3/04 (clip at 18:06)
  11. I don't think this is the same person: https://thevoiceovervoice.co.uk/female-voice-over-samples/
  12. I’m starting to think KSHB is close if not on deck. They are showing more of the updated package on newscast outros and talent promos. YouTube thumbnails also seems to have the updated look… fool me once….
  13. Yeah... I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish here with all these changes. Having better structured blocks (i.e... Chicago's Morning News: 4:30-9A, Good Day Chicago: 9-11A, The Loop: 11A-1P) is a plus (I guess). But, they can't keep blowing things up every couple of months without alienating the few viewers they have.
  14. I don't remember seeing a sponsor, but I'll watch for one the next time the ad plays.
  15. Yesterday
  16. UPDATE (again) With Elyse now on the main shows on WBBH, its Christy Soto taking over Elyse's 6:00 and 11:00pm weeknight gigs on WZVN. Christy will still be on at 4:00pm on WBBH. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1419216390012159&id=100057714354916
  17. Interesting that KWCH still uses non-standard weather branding.
  18. I tuned in to WFLD on my portable TV this morning and it seems that FOX 32 debuted "Chicago's Morning News" for the morning newscasts but moved Good Day Chicago to the 9:00am slot, and debuted the two hour program called "The Loop" at 11:00am.
  19. So, the stations traded Liberte Chan for Olga Ospina?
  20. Yes, they did, simulcasting from FanDuel Sports Sun. This new deal is for games to air exclusively on WPLG in Miami, I'd expect a broadcast deal to be done at least in West Palm Beach in the not-too-distant future.
  21. I thought that WPLG was going to get the Heat as they aired 10 games in 2025-26 season.
  22. If I’m interpreting it correctly, this sounds like a more permanent gig.
  23. Didn't see this yet as according to the comments Liberte Chan, formerly of KTLA, will be making weather appearances soon: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DY3Bnc8PfTQ/?igsh=cnB1dm5ldDlqNDcx
  24. Is the ad sponsored? Then there's your answer. Just a promo the sales department needed to slap a logo onto because the client was sold the time.
  25. Speaking of former Action News sports talent, Jamie Apody will do sports for at least tonight: https://www.instagram.com/p/DZVEVQ1pkRo/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=4add935e-37e3-4011-a74b-0712262f4bf3
  26. Sometimes we get so locked into what’s perceived as the “normal” way that it can become seen as the “only” way even when it isn’t. Maybe this doesn’t work out for them, and they switch something up. Maybe it does work out long term. The economics aren’t what they once were. Maybe being different and seeing how it plays out is worth the shot when all factors are taken into account.
  27. I think they're correcting the way you spelled her name. It's Carabeo, not Carabello. Anyway, I agree that this schedule is just odd. Jan has been doing weekends for years now. I feel like they could have just promoted her to Monday-Friday and found someone else to do weekends. Although, maybe she personally wanted to do it like this.
