Well this is sad for me to hear because I love her and I think she's an excellent anchor but...

After 8 years at WAVY-TV 10, Marielena Balouris is leaving the station, leaving the business, leaving the area, and packing her bags to join her husband (who's in the Navy) in South America.

Speaking of Hampton Roads, didn't Lucy Bustamante leave WVEC as well?

It looks like Fox 8 will continue its dominance for the foreseeable future.

It's good to see people who have actually been reporters elevated to positions of power in journalism.

In general....Too often we have bosses, especially news directors and producers, who expect the wold.  They have no idea about the timing and logistics needed to pull off field reporting and make slot because they were never reporters.

This week, KLTV celebrates 70 years on the air.  From its early years in an old airplane hangar, to the present in a former savings & loan headquarters branch, the station has had many stories to tell.  Here's KLTV's 70th anniversary special:

Devin is someone else who could have been interviewed for KLTV's anniversary special as he used to anchor for them.  Happy retirement, Devin!

Devin, Carmen, Chuck and Bernie were the team for me at WDIV.

I didn't know where else to put this so I'm putting it here.

SiriusXM has added Dateline NBC 24/7 on SXM 107 and NBC News NOW on streaming 798.

NBC News NOW is the first streaming news network (albeit on streaming/online, ironically enough) to land a spot on SiriusXM's lineup. ABC News LIVECBS News 24/7, or LiveNOW from FOX have yet to land spots on the service.

Just saw this on WCJB as they suffered through technical difficulties at the end of tonight's delayed 11pm news. They were airing paid programming as temporarily breakfiller before joining ABC's feed for JKL.

It doesn't say the official reason here, but I think we all know why, based on timing: He is becoming the replacement for soon-to-be retiring anchor Devin Scillian at WDIV.

I had a hunch this was the case

I'm shocked, because I would assume Jason Colthorp would move back to evenings.  Detroit News has more about the story

Longtime  WLOX anchor David Elliott is no longer at the station after supposedly expressing his political views on the site formerly known as Twitter

https://www.sunherald.com/news/politics-government/election/article294546944.html

And it is refreshing to see a newspaper not only still covering local television, but to be holding firm to the standard that anchors (and other journalists) should not express their political views, period.
