  1. Jimmy Q out at 12News.  A post on Facebook by Paul Gerke (Anchor KPNX NBC-Phoenix)

"Unfortunately, Jimmy is no longer an employee at 12 News. I know that disappoints a lot of you, and I'm sorry, but that's all I can say."

  2. Adding to the changes at KUSI, the KUSI News at 5/6pm had not two but three anchors (Anna Laurel, Logan Byrnes and Ginger Jeffries) sitting at the desk.  Ginger made a comment that they needed a new camera to fit them all in.

  3. Allison Ash, formerly KGTV (ABC-10 San Diego) reporter/Team 10 Investigators, reporting for KNSD (NBC-7, San Diego).  (New addition to the staff or possibly just freelancing.)

  4. With the recent shooting at a San Diego area Synagogue, KFMB, CBS-8 San Diego, has decided to not use the name or image of the alleged shooter in stories until the legal proceedings occur.  They state that victims (those injured or just present at the shooting) can be traumatized by the repeated use of the shooter's name or photo.

I have not seen any other San Diego station do the same.

  5. What happened to Dani Ruberti at KUSI (San Diego)?   She has not been on the air the last two weekends (Dave Scott has done both morning and evening weather reporting) and her bio is no longer on the website.  KUSI also has a job opportunity  for a Weather Anchor/Reporter.

    Weather Anchor/Reporter (45007)

McKinnon Broadcasting - San Diego, CA, 92123

Full TimeJob Requirements and Responsibilities: Must have a minimum of 5 (five) to seven (7) years experience as a Weather Reporter/Anchor. Qualified candidate will not only report on local, national and international weather, but will also go live from a variety of locations in the San Diego Community.   Must have experience producing and anchoring daily weathercasts on news programs, using available computer and satellite information systems.

I don't see any word of "retirement" on there.

Agreed it does not say that but the anchors both state that they are "celebrating Steve Fiorina as he move into the next chapter of his life"  There are also posts from other 10News coworkers about his retirement.

  7. Jodi Kodesh out at KNSD NBC-7 San Diego. This was posted on her Facebook page:

"Hey friends! So many of you have been asking where I've been. It took a little bit of time for me to write this. I recently learned that NBC was not going to be renewing my contract. It was my last day on air. 1f622.png It did come as a shock to me, and no, nothing happened. They just decided to go in a different direction. You all know how much I loved my job, but I really do believe that everything happens for a reason. I have nothing but love for them, and the opportunities they gave me.

If I've learned anything, it's that I have an amazing husband, and two little boys who love having me home. And, being able to sleep in is incredible. 14 years of waking up at 2 a.m. is a long time. 1f636.png

The good news is, I will always be a meteorologist, and one of my favorite parts of my job, was interacting on Facebook. I love forecasting for San Diego, I love making videos about the weather, and I plan to do even more of that now, because I'm more rested 1f60a.png

So I hope you will continue to follow along. I'll have exciting things to talk about in the future 1f61c.png1f618.png2764.png"

  8. Matt Baylow, Chief Meteorologist KFBM CBS-8 San Diego to retire at end of the month. (From his Facebook page):

"After 38+ years of weather forecasting, the time has come for me to do something else (and by "something else" I mean NOTHING) - so although it's been an awesome ride, this train comes into the station Wednesday, June 27th at 5pm.

I'd say it's the stress of live television or an uncooperative management team, but neither is the case - (the good people at KFMB Stations wanted to keep me around for another year) - rather it's simply time for more naps, more bridge, more cooking, etc. More information is forthcoming, but I've been really fortunate throughout my career, especially the past 20 years here in San Diego - my last chance to get it wrong will be at the end of the month."

  9. Message on Facebook by KUSI welcoming Dani Ruberti (formerly with WVLT Knoxville TN) to the news team (says reporting and weather).

Have not seen it mentioned but Lisa Remillard is no longer with KUSI. Here is her note on Twitter:
