Anyone know the name of the song that played at the end of the newscast? I remember it well, but tried using one of the music recognizing apps, with no luck.

As much as I'd like that to be the case, I'm not optimistic. I don't see NBC (Sox/Bulls/Blackhawks) or Sinclair (Cubs) blinking on their "exclusive home" claims, at least for the 2020 season.

Just look at how stubborn SportsNet LA has been after all.

SportNetLA has made agreements with KTLA to simulcast it's coverage of a handful of Dodgers games over the last few seasons, with the most recent agreement coming in August.

Has there ever been a time a PIX11 Newscast had an encore? The PIX tv schedule can be so erratic with its changes.

If you're taking about since the station has been known as PIX11, no. If you're talking about in the entire history of WPIX, yes. The station used to rerun the 10pm newscast starting sometime in the 90s up until around the time the morning news debuted in 2000.

  4. I seen meteorologist Jeff Smith holding a new microphone similar to what the European stations use, the only other station I seen using that is KTVX in Utah.

WPVI used it a few months back during the Amtrak derailment in Philly, IIRC.

  5. Message to WABC:

If you're going to have a line that shows school closings, either move the station bug up a notch or get rid of the EWN hashtag while the line is running. That is all.

Edit: Looks like I wasn't the only one that noticed.

I think they chose 7Online for those people who were not familiar with computers to access their website on a computer. Makes no sense!

They should've grabbed ABC7.COM before KABC did, but then again KABC has consistently branded themselves as ABC7 since the 90s, while WABC has used that branding sparingly.
