I really don't see what the big bruhaha is either, I think it's sleek and clean - now is it as grand as WTVJ, WBTS or some of the larger sets? No but it gets the job done IMO

This is the most they showed outside of the standing areas for the 11AM news - they kept the shots reasonably tight

It reminds me of the classic 80's open. Even without that perceived influence, I still really like it.

 

YES! I couldn't remember the year.. that intro immediately passed my mind when I saw it.

Al was 100% correct.. Al's view represented what America was thinking.. Its a shame NBC wanted him to apologise for saying the truth (even though it went against their brand)

I love the open, and to me, it seems newsier in areas of the graphics (lowers, transitions).

The older opens are bland and slow compared to this.

The updated music is nice as well.
