You're right! I think he was there last night.

They planned on being live from Charleston tonight but they traveled back to NY after the Supreme court ruling earlier today to cover that event and the 2 other subsequent major stories as well.

It seems like they are trying to lighten the load on their staff.

I know it's just a theory but could it be that this lightening the load of the morning staff could be in response to Lisa Colligrasi's death and the claims that her heavy morning workload contributed to her death. Just a theory...

That being said, it could just be that they wanted to change it up a little.

ESPN's 'Mike & Mike' morning show will be moving from Bristol to Times Square in the near future, creating a partnership with 'Good Morning America'. Hosts and personalities from the two programs will crossover and make appearances given the right opportunity, but guest bookings are playing a key role in the move, as well.

Personally, I think ESPN should have moved their new 7-9am Sportcenter (http://www.adweek.com/news/television/espn-announces-2-new-morning-hours-sportscenter-and-more-30-30-164706) to Times Square instead. I think that SC would benefit from the booking benefits more than Mike and Mike would. The interaction between the GMA and SC teams would be an incredible use of synergy by having the SC team do sports on GMA and the GMA team do some news on SC.
  4. The thing with The View is that all of their most memorable moments came when the panelists disagreed and didn't get along (think of the whole Rosie v. Elisabeth situation that ended with Rosie leaving the show that very day). The debates on The View used to make headlines online and on other tv programs. Today its just another female centric talk show that has just blended in. I was actually watching todays show for a few minutes and before tossing to a commercial, Rosie said, "This is The TALK"! Not sure if it was a joke or a mistake but thats exactly what a got from the entire show. It's now a program where everyone gets along and agrees with each other and even if they don't, they don't seem to involved to strongly support their view (no pun intended). I really don't think they can recapture that same aspect that made The View what it was, a group of unique women talking about topics that only men had the opportunity to talk about together on tv before Barbra started to show.

I commend the show for what it was and how it shaped our pop culture (even making the term "Hot Topics" a part of my casual vocabulary) but i think it's time to close up shop. The View has defiantly lost it's nerve which was what the show was. It's so sad to see a show that will forever be remembered for what it was when it began, be degraded to what it currently is.

  5. This seems very similar to when they would have Kaity do a part of the 10pm news from a restaurant (or something else) that had a good view of the city skyline.

Sounds like a gimmicky thing. I see no need for it.

I know it's no the exact same thing but remember when WLNY had their Long Island studio after being taken over by WCBS? It lasted a few months and was only used for one segment everyday.

Oh yeah I actually saw that the other day too and forgot to mention it on here- certainly looks very interesting. Also they have a new weather "transition" package ie. they now have custom "Eye on the storm" lower thirds and newer transitions.
