KOVR's 6:00PM News did a Long Close before Entertainment Tonight for a minute and a half. kinda like what WGN does. something you dont usually see on KOVR.

FOX rolled out a beta version of their site redesigned for both FOX and FX networks as well as National Geographic channels. the site now combines all of them.

apparently these stations use a different site address when on mobile. instead of /mobile they use /mb/home and if you try to redirect them with /home it goes to the main site instead:
KREM, KTHV, KTVB,WFMY, KGW, WLTX,WJXX/WLTV,WXIA,KYTX,KIDY,KCEN,WCSH, WZZM

Yes. Some poor promotions producer probably spent two hours putting it together-- and after all that, the lead story is a meaningless preseason NFL game (Yes, I understand KPNX aired the game).
their on that Sports team branding. KXTV does it with the Sacramento Kings NBA team.

The way KPNX does news now? There's no way they're still #1 now. It has to be KTVK or KSAZ by now.
I thought it was KNXV?

It honestly makes me wonder. It seems that they do well in the AM and at 10pm; I would question why they have no desire to put their money and resources into a new set. We've said it for years it needs an update desperately!!
WJBK and KTVU used to have this problem.

WHDH doesn't have news on the 8pm hour.
oh my bad.
-
So KRON 4's gonna be the KCAL9 of the Bay Area...
or Boston's WHDH.
-
I realized KPTM is using the FOX O&O Graphics but using convergence SAM for music. makes you wonder if they want to be a FOX O&O? then again KTVU and WHBQ uses an in-house version of those graphics. but if they are Sinclair owned, shouldn't they use their graphics? (Glass/Curves)

I remember Einstein Bros Bagels used to have something similar. Some of them would have a TV with a mix of weather, stock quotes, headlines from CBS News' website, horoscopes and who knows what other random stuff they found. I don't remember there being video, but maybe there was. This was back in the Katie Couric era. I'm not sure if they still do it — I've been on the west coast for too long, where we get Noah's instead of Einstein's.
they probably still do it with scott pelley. i know certain 7-Eleven locations used to have a system with weather while promoting NBC and NBC news with clips from the show Extra which i believe Gas stations do still. some gas stations uses CNN while you pump gas.
-
They want to promote CBS...not CBSN.
The prime demo for TV is the same for fast food.
Male 25-54
that makes more sense actually.

Burger King's new TV system is using clips from CBS. This means that while you're hungry they will have stuff from 60 Minutes and CBS clips and promos. I wonder if they could have just used CBSN?

Sign? No. Part of the actual plan from the start? Yes.
also my bad its going to be on 40.3 not 40.2.

apparently its not just Sinclair. THISTV is also getting kids click on stations not owned by sinclair. for example its coming to THISTV 40.2 owned and operated by the Fox affiliate KTXL in sacramento a tribune station. thats a sign that its going to exist on more stations than they actually plan to.
-
Is it me? or did they just copy Hearst Graphics with a logo almost similar to KIRO?
you can also tell by the lower thirds.

KCRA got their own version of Revolution in 2000. with a complete mandate thereafter until they switched to the NewsMusic Central Package in 2004.
-
for some reason FOX or tribune has been doing this for a while now. apparently when you watch FOX's live stream on FOX's website they show the Tribune Broadcasting logo or in some areas the golden Nexstar "LOCAL" logo looping for a few seconds (the same ones after a newscast) before going to commercials. i could be wrong but they seem to do this to plaster over the Local commercials.

I think it's more "walk up to a designer and say 'hey, we like this new CNN look. Think you could make the same thing but blue?'"
Meanwhile KQDS did change ... a bit
Now it looks like KTXL's old 2011 graphics in a way. i think its the fonts they use.
-
Stephanie Harris of KCRA has passed over the weekend. she will be dearly missed. also KQCA was having technical difficulties with their reporting so you couldn't hear anyone reporting it not only the video froze they had to skip it and report on something else.
-
Its rare for ANY station to show an ID like that these days. Not just CBS ones, but with any affiliation. PERIOD.
yeah KTXL and KCRA occasionally does it. (KCRA uses news reporters in their ID sometimes but only from and to NBC Programming.) as far as networks go they don't because theyr'e all promos now.
on a serious note i know nexstar stations are using helicopter footage when there's breaking news but some stations with news broadcasts are using Facebook live now. I've only seen this with CBS O&Os.
-
KOVR forgot to take their news Bug off this morning during Let's Make a deal but then went into dead air for a while. i have no idea whats going on with them and CBS.
EDIT: this has never happened before. apparently during the price is right they showed nothing but this ID for the whole entire commercial break. it also slipped in the enforcer theme for a split second. isn't it rare to see a CBS station show an ID these days?

so it seems that CBS was the first to break into a special report today.

I realized the graphics for NHK World Newsline looks strikingly similar to WISH-TV's Graphics.

whats worse is that they are not in HD so everything they show will be letterboxed!
