  1. Meant to post this a while ago, but KOLN did some minor refinements to their graphics for the weather talent last month. Still using in house folks it seems, undoubtedly from the graphics hub staff I would bet, and still no Gray One but some minor elements of it show up in promos. They've also been still making new ones for thinks like their Night Beat and Morning Pulse streaming studio products. GrayOne is nice, but I like this custom package even more. It continues to give them an identity of their own.
  2. GrayOne and new music dropped today on WOWT, debuting with the midday show. They are officially rebranding ast First Alert 6. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1523oxkWqM/
  3. Update to KHGI/KFXL. On the daily live today that they do at the end of the noon show on Facebook, they talk about it being the last day for some. They've confirmed there will be no longer someone at the anchor desk during the noon show. Their goal is to put more people in the field to create more content. All shows are pretaped, and only weather will be live (but on a timer with nobody to keep them on air if they accidentlally run over time alloted). https://fb.watch/vKjuHgYBOf/
  4. Funny enough, the old logo with the Peacock on it is still in the ticker banner at the bottom of the 24/7 Weather stream.
  5. KNOP and KSNB graphics are all run and remote produced from KOLN in Lincoln. Gray put a lot of money into upgrading their production flows after acquiring them. They had a special open for the Nebraska State Fair this year that was using elements of Gray One, and some of KOLNs Promos also have elements of Gray One sprinkled into them.
  6. NTV (KHGI & KFXL) evening shows went anchorless today. The KFXL 9 PM show that is on is just story to story now, and only the weather is live. The show intro no longer says it is live from their studios and removed their legal IDs at the bottom as well. This comes after Dave Griek was let go 2 weeks ago after 15 years, and sounds like many others have been as well. More changes sound like they are coming. Compared to what sister and neighbor KPTM was doing at the end of its news run it with KMPH running things, this almost seems like a worse solution than that outsourcing. Interestingly enough, all these cuts come after large investments in a set that now doesn't get used for these shows...
  7. New set debuted at KHGI/KFXL last night after construction since the end of May. They replaced the set that was a hybrid of parts that were redone around 10 years ago, and some parts had not been redone since the early 2000’s. Weather center stays the same since that had a more recent refresh. This is the first major make over to the set since Sinclair acquired the station from Pappas.
  8. They still air a Midday at 11:30, 6pm, and 10pm show. A 5pm was never added to KNOP, because at one point they produced a 5pm on KNPL 10/11 North Platte that was very short lived as a result of Gray buying Hoake the year after they stood up their own NP station, which has been cut for years now.
  9. This week KNOP ended production of their own morning show. They are now airing sister station KSNB's morning show in its place, inserting North Platte news and weather into the show, and now giving 2 hours of news to North Platte versus the 1 hour show they produced before. No KNOP on air staff left, as they are still on air for the the midday show in North Platte. On KNOP, they now show a Local 4 on News 2 logo and still have the KNOP ticker that was there before. This comes on the heels of sister KNEP (which KNOP produced the morning show for and provided weather for all shows) shutting down their news department and shows.
  10. KSNB has been using Tower V.6 since August 2022, and kept it for midday news open, but the evening shows now have the Seize the Day theme as well like KNOP does (both are controlled in Lincoln) and are ending the show with a live shot of their control room at KOLN in Lincoln.
  11. Sorta yes. I consider it it's own game because it is in the Omaha market. Lincoln/Hastings/Kearney market covers the vast majority of Nebraska. I usually think of this market as Nebraska due to it's immense size. (So yes I am forgetting it, but it essentially means nothing outside of Omaha in terms of coverage)
  12. KFXL & NTV have launched new websites. Nebraska.tv has a new logo and KFXL's title on your browser now says Lincoln news. They have also set up the opening for KFXL nightly on TV to open mentioning it as Lincoln and Central Nebraska news. Curious to see what this leads to and whether they will try to increase their Lincoln footprint as the only Fox affiliate in Nebraska, aside from low power KIIT.
