  1. I wonder when WPVI TV 6abc will roll out the new abc logo to match its 54 year old egg shaped 6 logo. That logo has been in place since 1967 although it rolled out very slowly until becoming the full time logo when action news premiered in 1970.

I would think a complete overhaul of the logo would be a big mistake for channel 6 viewers resist change , and they went through this with the short lived action news theme. in 1996.

  2. That was the short lived theme for Action News, within 3 or 4 days after numerous phone calls and complaints, the original 1972 theme and the close used since late 1975  was reinstated.

Channel 6s viewers are resistant to change, a year or so later they tried to use the close from 6abc this has been action news and have the reporters closings mention im ----- 6abc action news within days after viewer complaints, they  changed back to saying channel 6.

Imagine what the reaction would be if channel 6 abc decided to change their station logo used since 1967(at first to denote a color presentation), viewers would be livid.

6abc started doing the olympics midnight update possibly in 2006.

  3. From what I read in the tv listings, Action News is launching a 5pm Saturday newscast this Saturday, which was expected after the college football season(technically not over - conference championship week counts as regular season games). Are they going to have Walter and Sarah co anchor(as they have for Sunday newscasts since Rob Jennings retired 4 years ago after 36 years as weekend anchor) or is Walter anchoring solo, or are they going to have some else co anchor with Walter?
