The montage was wonderful.
Jim was remarkably somber in his final newscast but gave a pretty robust and powerful farewell speech.I almost chocked up when Jim and Cecily made their final exchange after Cecily gave the forecast right before the last commercial break.

Another interview as the farewell tour in underway. This one seems to confirm Gardner’s last day at the station is 12/31; perhaps his actual last airdate is going to be Friday 12/30?

They left earlier this year as that building is under renovation to become high end housing or something. They even closed the long time underground dive bar The Whig just last week that was directly underneath the studio. -

When did Inside Story become an informercial? They did two paid advertising segments on it. Boy something is going very wrong over at 6 these days!

Thanks for the info! It feels like so long ago they scrapped the orchestral version of the theme now.

Malpass’ contract wasn't renewed. This should be obvious as there was no love fest and commercials leading up to her last broadcast as there normally are when our long time on air talent retire. Malpass was not be one off the nicest people either, her beef with Cecily Tynan, we got complaints of her being a pushy "do you know who I am" type diva in public etc. She may have been #1 in her timeslot, but a lot of folks at 6 don't miss working with her at all.

They sure did. People had complained about them similar to the infamous 1996 updated opening, so the WPVI quickly dropped them.
