  1. From 1986, here are commercials as aired over WCTV-6 in Tallahassee, Florida. At 33:27 is a WCTV "First News" open with an incredible cut from Tuesday's classic WNDU 1986 News Theme package.
  2. Observing this, it looks like WTHI, WFFT and WLFI all received the blue and red Hothaus graphics. Here are the WLFI, WTHI and WFFT news opens utilizing the new graphics.
  3. Over in Hazard, KY, WYMT, the CBS affiliate, recently made changes to their newscasts which will see the weekday 4pm and weekend newscasts originate from Gray co-owned WKYT in Lexington. Go to https://www.wymt.com/2024/11/13/programming-update-changes-wymt-newscasts/ for more details.
  4. Good evening, everyone! Well, you never know what you will find on YouTube...especially when it comes to rare content never before seen. Back on September 4th, 1977, WSLS-TV 10's Action News featured a sportscast done by Bob Paine. The anchor you see at the beginning is Richard Dean who, according to Bob Paine, was on his first or second week on the job. What you are about to see is rare WSLS material. Why is that? Because it features the sports segment along with the close to that very newscast. The theme that WSLS used back in 1977 was "On Top of It All" by Mayoham Music. The video is courtesy of Bob Paine who uploaded it on his YouTube channel.
  5. One of the great things about searching for videos on YouTube is that you never know what you'll find. Case in point: Stations that once had a news operation. Well, with that said, I want to share with you a clip out of WTLW 44 out of Lima, Ohio which was a religious independent station. During the 1990s, WTLW had a news operation and even used Gari's "You've Got 8 On Your Side" as their news theme. So, with that said, here is a 10pm open when WTLW once had a news operation.
  6. WKYT in Lexington, KY also switched to GrayONE today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRl0-5eVy_A
  7. I saw this and I believe that WKYT is going to look so much better with these new GrayONE graphics. Now, it is making me wonder how WYMT is going to look whenever they get these graphics.
  8. I am currently watching the live coverage on KTLA+ via my Roku smart TV and it is a devastating loss, because Sam was KTLA and one of the best entertainment reporters in the world. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
  9. If they were to sell a station in a smaller market, it would be WFXL, a FOX afilliate in Albany, Georgia. And it got me to thinking, if Gray was to acquire WFXL from Sinclair, they need to keep the FOX affiliation and restart a news operation with a 10pm newscast produced by WALB, the NBC station, to start out with. As for a major market scenario, I predict that a company such as Gray or Nexstar would acquire the Seattle ABC (KOMO) and CW (KUNS) affiliates. As for what is going to happen, this will get interesting as time progresses and I look forward to finding out who will acquire those stations.
  10. I have to agree that both KBJR and WTVG were given great improvements from their previous graphics. The WTVG open looks fantastic while KBJR's use of GrayONE was fantastic. Now, it will be interesting to see how other Gray stations will look with GrayONE.
  11. Good evening, everyone! When you go online to search for something, you never know what you'll come across. So...get ready. I came across some rare Lexington, KY news material which you can view by going to https://archive.org/details/@seymore_skinner. Believe me, you will not want to miss what it on there at the moment.
  12. I find this thread to be so interesting, because I enjoy reading the conversation about GrayONE. When WVLT unveiled the new GrayONE graphics about a month ago on April 1st, April Fools Day of all days, it became a wonderful improvement from the previous Gray graphics from over the years. And when I saw the opening of the noon news on that day, it made me so happy. I feel that WVLT and KWQC are two stations that are my favorite uses of GrayONE. And, it will be interesting to see how WYMT, WKYT, WSMV and other Gray-owned stations will do with GrayONE.
