Jterry 43
Like with the NYT stations it goes to a private equity group. Providence Equity Partners. Oak Hill Capitol Partners, who bought NYT, were in the front running to buy the CC stations as well, but they didn't get the winning bid. The top contender was Nexstar, so at least there is good news in that they did not get these stations. But once again there is a mystery over how these stations will be run with another new group coming in, probably safe to assume to expect very little change in the near term at least. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6435270.html Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1083-clear-channel-sells/ Share on other sites
NewzPimpin 1
This is an exciting time for many markets, particularly Memphis, becuase the CBS stations was a NYT station and the ABC/CW affiliates were owned by ClearChannel. I wonder how (or if) this will change anything as far as the newscasts are concerned... stevieboy247 42
I think Nexstar was also expected to buy 100% of WLYH in Harrisburg Pennsylvania since they currently own the station license. Does anybody know what will happen with their sister station WHP-TV? They're expected to be sold as well.
