KHOU to launch 4 p.m. newscast

KHOU in Houston has finally announced its post-Oprah plans. Starting August 1st, KHOU will air 30 minutes of news at 4 p.m. followed by the return of Jeopardy! to daytime time TV in Houston at 4:30 p.m. Len Cannon will anchor and Chita Johnson (from KRCR in Redding, CA) will do the weather.

So now Houston will soon to be have 3 4pm Newscast. The first was KPRC in '97, KTRK in '02 or '03 and now KHOU is now on the list.

You're pretty close in terms of KPRC and KTRK. For the record, KPRC started its 4 p.m. newscast in August 1996, while KTRK launched theirs in August 2001.
