Yesterday, CBS affiliate WRAL debuted a revamed set and control room for its newscasts. After weeks of newscasts from a temporary set, the station moved to its new set, which includes an 85-inch plasma-sceen monitor, new desks, new readible graphics and even new lighting. Also included is a space used for reports on the Internet and what's in it.

Here's the link from TVNewser:

Any time a newsroom set gets covered up, I weep just a little. I wish that the city skyline panel in the center could drop down to reveal the newsroom in the background.

Another FX Group design. Neat.

Looks absolutely nothing like everything else they've done this year.

Insert sarcasm here(?)

Gah, it's not really a new set as much as it is a new desk and something obscuring the (really dated) newsroom. Where the old stuff clashes with the new looks awful.

The new control room looks nicer than the "set", at least.
