The theme song that introduced ESPN's "Monday Night Football" for nearly 20 years will not return after Hank Williams Jr. made comments about President Obama by comparing him to Hitler.

And for those who missed it, here is a video of Hank's comments during an interview on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends"

Hank WIlliams, Jr. and his theme song was always a part of Monday Night Football.

It started when ABC was an independently-produced sports division (like NBC and CBS), and there were many good MNF intros pre-Hank.

HWJ's theme and intro has outdone all the past MNF intros from 1970 until 1989.

Two men remained constant: 1st Frank Gifford (whatever became of him) and then Al Michaels (now at NBC Sports' Sunday Night Football)

Speaking of which (from season two and beyond), NBC sports followed suit with another country music star (Faith Hill) singing the intro to Sunday Night Football; they are competing with Hank's MNF intro saying "Are You Ready for some football?
