The best Action News of the year? Unquestionably, the Thanksgiving Eve edition. If you're not familiar with it, WPVI produces the city's thanksgiving day parade, and they make a predictably big deal of it. And the night before, they do a parade preview. With their most histrionic reporter, Dann Cuellar. With an ATV. And a moving truck shot.

This year's was toned down quite a bit from previous years, but they led with news at the top, so I guess that's okay. I honestly don't think anything can and will top the nine minute epic from 2008:

This is, without a doubt, without question, truly the BEST Action News ever! I just saw it and like years' past, I was amazed by it. Although it wasn't as high-caliber as last year's or the year before last. Can't wait for tomorrow.

....seriously, though, I'm one of the purists who likes news, and 6 is usually the one station that keeps nonsense out of the A block. But I'm willing to tolerate the rare ecedption and the parade is one of them. It's always fun to see Dann Cuellar, their lead reporter, go absolutely nuts about something trivial.
