Marathon moves to WABC

The New York Road Runners club has struck a new deal to televise the NYC Marathon on ESPN2 and WABC-TV. Beginning this fall, the marathon will be televised live across the country for the first time since 1993 when it was on ABC. Most recently, the Marathon was broadcast on WNBC and before that on WPIX.

 

This is second WNBC community event to move to ABC in the past year. Last fall, the Columbus Day Parade was broadcast on WABC for the first time.
