Viewers Keep global Bc in #1 News Position

it looks like Global BC continues to dominate the ratings however CTV is making some gains during late night.

 

VANCOUVER, January 24, 2012 – British Columbians have made it perfectly clear: their number one choice for news is Global BC. According to BBM PPM (Portable People Meter) Fall 2011 survey, all of Global BC’s newscasts continue to win their timeslots – morning, noon and night in total audience and in all key demographics including A18-49 and A25-54.

 

“Thanks to the unswerving loyalty of our viewers, Global BC continues to be a news powerhouse in this market,” said Ian Haysom, Regional Director News BC. “Our viewers expect us to present the most accurate news in the most timely fashion, and we deliver every day.”

 

A quick glance at core news viewers the A25-54 (M-F) numbers:

• Morning News with Steve Darling and Sophie Lui surged ahead of its closest competitor, Citytv’s Breakfast Television by 300%

• The audience for Noon News with Sophie Lui and Jay Durant was 15 times higher than CTV Noon News

• Early News with Deborra Hope stayed ahead of CTV News at 5pm by 271%

• News Hour with Chris Gailus outperformed CTV News at 6 by 264%

• News Hour Final with Randene Neill and Squire Barnes surpassed CTV Late News by 158%

• The audience for Weekend News Hour with Robin Stickley was 363% higher than CTV Evening News Weekend

• News Final with Anne Drewa bested CTV Late News by 191%

 

The Saturday and Sunday Morning News with Lynne Collier was an equally strong performer this past fall.
