UK: Murdoch Not Fit To Run News Corp.

In a really damning report just released by the UK parliament, Rupert Murdoch is said to have been willfully blind to his company's phone hacking, and basically says Rupert Murdoch should not be running News Corp. anymore.

Rupert Murdoch is "not a fit person" to exercise stewardship of a major international company, a committee of MPs concluded this morning in a report highly critical of the mogul's and his son's role in the News of the World phone-hacking affair.

The culture, media and sport select committee also concluded that James

Murdoch showed wilful ignorance of the extent of phone hacking during 2009 and 2010 – in a highly charged document that saw MPs split on party lines in regards to the two Murdochs.

What happens beyond this is anyone's guess. Pretty likely, Ofcom (the UK's FCC) is going to investigate as to whether he is indeed fit to run the company - and it's very likely they order Murdoch to sell his stake in British Sky Broadcasting - and may go as far as to revoke the license for BSkyB.
