AaronQ 282
WROC and Fox Rochester launched their HD newscast today making the 2nd station in Rochester to have a newscast in High Definition http://rochesterhomepage.net/fulltext?nxd_id=340022 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/12108-wroc-news-8-and-fox-rochester-now-in-hd/ Share on other sites
KnoxvilleTVFan 286
They are using new graphics to compliment the switch to HD. I especially love these, because they are a lot better than what KODE, WBRE/WYOU, and the other Nexstar stations are using. It is making me wonder if they were done in-house or by another company. These are some wonderful graphics that WROC/WUHF are using. 13WHAMfan 5
One criticism of their set is that it is that the background is a bit too busy. It lists town names all over it and so when there is a medium shot of each anchor, there is quite a busy background behind them. The graphics seem great though... it's just the set that has mixed reviews. I have yet to find a clip of their open and everything in HD on YouTube (I'm out of the country at the moment). Looking forward to seeing what it looks like once I return. Leavellebrett 85
WTAJ got the same graphics and set. I was thinking is was going to be more like Eyewitness News' in Scranton, but... alas, I'm happy with these. I will say that the set isn't AS busy. There are still town names and blah blah blah, but they got it right with WTAJ. They found the happy medium. My only other problem with the graphics are the unnecessary squares just coming off of everything like the top left of the weather graphics. But overall, this is beyond words for Nexstar. They're getting better. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/12108-wroc-news-8-and-fox-rochester-now-in-hd/#findComment-79798 Share on other sites

NewsStar2 90
KODE has been using these graphics for a while now. l'll be out that way in a few weeks so I'll probably post how they're using them as well as KSNF's use of the NBC look.
