This is a great video that WFRV just put on their website. It shows you a "behind the scenes" look at WFRV's newscasts and has a lot of interesting information about the way TV news is done.

Most of you non-Wisconsinites probably won't be familiar with the personalities, but I thought you would find it interesting nonetheless.

Bad URL, but I found it by going to their Videos page. (labeled "WEB EXTRA" and they're about halfway down the list)

Just started watching the first of two "behind the scenes" videos. Man, I miss Tammy Elliot down here in Milwaukee. This is the first I've seen her since she left WISN... love her new hairstyle. I laugh at the video that opens with her holding the microphone - either that's a huge microphone, or she is TINY!

People must be loving these videos. To make a long story short, CBS 5 is not "always on".....:)

EDIT: It's back up, and I'm watching it. Pretty fun video. BTW, how 'bout the site redesign????

ANOTHER EDIT: I'm pretty well into the full 46 min. version, which so far is proving one of the best behind the scenes videos of anything I've ever seen. They pretty much cover everything.

BTW, on a more personal note, the audio guy in the video is an ol' buddy who used to work at the local access station I volunteer at. Real cool guy. :p

Guest WaukeeDude

Franky Zinn needs to look at this video, because he knows NOTHING about TV news, except what time it comes on...

Or do you mean it.

Sorry for the bad link folks. The original URL came from the old CBS site.

Here is the correct URL: http://www.wfrv.com/mediacenter/local.aspx?videoId=25142

The new website isn't too bad, actually. I have been nervous to see what Kidder & Co. would come up with on their own, but it actually looks pretty good. There is still a good amount of video on the site and the navigation is pretty easy. The video also looks clearer with this new video player.

Plus WJMN actually has their own logo on their part of the website now! http://www.wjmntv.com
