tigermichal 0
Source: http://www.tvweek.com/news.cms?newsId=12053 STUDIO 60 GETS CANCELED/ ER-SCRUBS( )-OFFICE BACK NBC confirmed the pickup of five dramas, a comedy and two alternative projects Monday in advance of their upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. The fall lineup includes previously reported dramas "Bionic Woman," "Chuck," "Journeyman," "Life" and "Lipstick Jungle." The network also tapped one comedy for fall, "The IT Crowd." In addition, NBC has picked up two talent competition series—"World Moves," a dance competition from executive producer Randy Jackson ("American Idol"), and "The Singing Bee," a karaoke contest. The network has given the coveted post-"Heroes" Monday slot to "Journeyman," starring Kevin McKidd ("Rome") as a time traveler. There's no schedule change for ratings-challenged "ER" despite speculation that the longtime drama might get bumped from its Thursday post. NBC confirmed the renewal of "Friday Night Lights," which will finally be on Friday nights, making marketing a tad easier. "Law & Order," whose renewal the network announced yesterday, is getting pulled off Friday nights when it returns midseason for a Sundays at 8 p.m. slot. NBC also announced the return of Jerry Seinfeld to the network. Mr. Seinfeld will star in 20 live-action comedy "minisodes" inspired by his experiencing creating the upcoming animated feature film "Bee Movie." Seeking to capitalize on the popularity of returning series "Heroes," "The Office" and "My Name Is Earl," NBC is boosting the shows' season orders. The network has ordered a combined 30 hours of "Heroes" and "Heroes: Origins"—a new spin-off series that each week will introduce a new character. Viewers can vote for their favorite new hero on NBC.com and the winner will become a regular cast member the following season. The network has also ordered 30 half-hours of "The Office," including five hour-long episodes, and increased the season order for "My Name Is Earl" to 25 episodes. "Last year we promised a return to the NBC legacy of quality, and in terms of awards, buzz and critical acclaim, that's just what we delivered," said NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. "We've got the class and next season we're ready to add some mass, with new shows that build on the creative accomplishments of last season and are as broad as they are good. Combine the energy of these new programs with the bulked-up strength of our existing NBC hits and you've got a lineup that's poised to take us to the next level." NBC will continue to take utilize its cable properties for the new lineup, airing repeats of "Bionic" on Sci Fi Channel and "Life" on USA Network. The NBC prime-time schedule for fall 2007-08 is below. New programs are capitalized (with the exception of "ER"). tigermichal 0
thursday nights seem to be the only good night on NBC... Deal or No Deal is okay too but it never comes on when i could watch it and i'm not wasting my DVR time for it but seriously NBC will never be like it used to be Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10326 Share on other sites
NYNews 54
Let's hope NBC can get things back in order. It really is hurting location affiliates with the the sign-on till sign-off ratings (i.e. WNBC) They don't have any good shows. Thursday is tough already, with CSI and my favorites, Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy. And di anyone catch the preview/first episode of treveller on ABC, i thought it was great. Unfortunately, NBC has no shows like Grey's Anatomy to help them. Looking at that line-up i think they will experience dejavu in the fall. Tyler 151
It sucks Law & Order is being moved to Sundays, and won't begin until Jan. 2008. Wonder if it'll be it's final season on NBC. I thought Law and Order was moving to TNT after this season. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10334 Share on other sites
therealsvrtveditor 0
I know it will never happen, but I would love to see the L&O franchise move networks to say, CBS. The original L&O could have their own timeslot back or be before "CSI:NY", L&O:SVU in it's current time slot (not like CBS has anything going on there right now) and L&O:CI say on Sundays with the other crime dramas......"Heroes" would be NBC's only big show. But then again, that is just wishful thinking from someone who watches WAY too much TV. Tyler 151
My favorite L&O is SVU. Thankfully, it's not moving at all. NBC just moved L&O CI to Mondays... but looks like this is it's final season on NBC (which is okay, I don't prefer CI anyway). Guest zas1977
L&O: CI is moving to USA. All new episodes... NBC will likely air repeats on Saturdays. Odd move. http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Roush-Dispatch/Nbc-Parsing-Peacocks/800014984 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10345 Share on other sites

tvpirate05 1
I just glad "30 Rock" is coming back, I love that show! You know what's really ironic? Last summer, everyone thought "Studio 60" was gonna be THE show to watch, and no one gave "30 Rock" a shot, myself included. Now, look who got the renewal and who's been canceled. BTW, I agree, "30 Rock" is a really good show. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10397 Share on other sites
NashvilleTV5 0
Wow! NBC has finally decided to move Friday Night Lights to Friday! Oh man, but what about those actual "Friday Night Lights" and missing the show? ??? NewzPimpin 1
NBC's programming hasn't been this bad since the "NB See Us" and "Proud as a Peacock" years... Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10412 Share on other sites
NYnewsFan 0
I am very happy that Friday Night Lights will be back. I wish more people watched this excellent show. It was one of the best new shows this season. It's too bad it will now have a terrible timeslot on a Friday night. Who exactly is confused by havng Friday in the title? It's a good Sunday night show. Oliverolang 41
Even though there would be 8 new episodes, I'm really glad 1 vs. 100 is coming back. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1221-nbc-fall-2007/#findComment-10502 Share on other sites
