Big Country News 435 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 FNC has done some major overhauling. Updating the Ticker, News Alert Sting, Location Identifier, Lower Third Design, and logo cube (three times since June). This is no suprise due to the fact that most of the graphics were years old, and FNC has a tendency to stay 'up-to-date'. Today, FNC updated the logo cube again, making it similar to the 'special event' cube that put the 'LIVE' logo in the red box. Although, the graphic screams "Hey, we were put on a time limit" and "Quantity, not Quality". Here is the 'New' logo cube design: FOX News Channel has and probably will continue to have good graphics, but they need to remember that Quality is much better than Quantity.
Geoffrey 873 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I noticed this change, too. They removed the "live" that used to be above the logo and stuck it on the red box below. When a live image first comes on the screen, whatever is in that box is replaced by "live" for at least one full rotation before being replaced by "channel" and the time. "Live" will eventually come back. I find it strange because cable channels always seemed to like emphasizing when they were live. Now you can turn on Fox News and not be sure right away if they are live because the bug shares space with the other things. By the way, isn't this the time of the year the cube turns green?
mightynine 290 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 FOX News Channel has and probably will continue to have good graphics... Highly disagree, especially on the L3s.
Big Country News 435 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 By the way, isn't this the time of the year the cube turns green? Yes, FNC is probably just experimenting. It's happening more often because news outlets are realizing that only news junkies pay attention or care.
