CircleSeven 1944 Posted May 7, 2013 Share Posted May 7, 2013 The first Asian anchor/reporter in the Southland, Mario Machado passed away over the weekend. The LA Times reported late Sunday Night, that he passed away on Saturday night because of complications of pneumonia. He had a longtime illness of Parkinson's disease. Machado started his television career at KHJ-TV Channel 9 in 1967. He would later move to KNXT the following year, where he stayed there for most of his career.
