lkwdcj562 0
When did KFMB-TV rebranded is self as CBS 8 (the web site is now http://www.cbs8.com from prior site http://www.kfmbtv.com)? I am glad the didn't change the name of the news franchise to CBS 8 News. When the management to Local 8 News in the late 90's-very early 2000's people rebelled down there. Any clues folks? A3N 1002
It is just their website, I guess they wanted to relate more to CBS. The newscasts are still branded as NEWS 8 [HD]. Maybe in a couple of years they will go to CBS 8 NEWS. When the show schedule for Entertainment Tonight for example, comes up Bill Ratner says "Tonight at 7 right here on CBS 8." I myself would rather them brand themselves as CBS 8 NEWS, I think NEWS 8 sounds too 1990's. EDIT: They changed their website to cbs8.com back in January when they switched to HD. Names like "News _" is one of the more generic names that doesn't get old. Network/channel branding ("CBS 8") is trendy and would probably get old over the next 10+ years or so. They could always brand the station as "CBS 8" and the newscasts "News 8."
