Unaired Edd Kalehoff / WEWS promo?

I came across this promo on Edd Kalehoff's YouTube Channel (Edward Kalehoff)

I don't remember ever seeing this version on air....it had their 1998 logo at the end, and sounded very much like the "Give Me 5" promo that ran from 1995-1996ish.

I'm thinking it was either a spec promo, or something that got shot down by management, resulting in the "give me 5" version that actually aired.

Maybe they were going to continue the campaign, but then someone realized that they needed to be more serious and move away from the past (after all, their "tilited circle 5" logo just looked goofy :rofl!. Then again, when they got that logo, they kinda fell down the ratings chart, and they've got some bad luck, like a sports anchor arrested).

Good luck on getting the stations in on this. Hate to break it to you, but station employees are likely busy with other things that take priority over something that is purely trivial.

Not to mention that it was done so long ago, so any staff involved is likely LONG gone (WEWS has turned over many times in the past 15 years). In this case, it may have even been done out-of-house.
