PTVNews 194
There was chatter weeks ago that KPTV, FOX 12 Oregon was going to get a new set and now details have emerged. The set was installed this week and will debut on Sunday. No word yet on who designed it. I'm optimistic about most of what I've seen so far. However that yellow strip is quite odd and plain looking. Their previous desk was on the small side and it looks like this one is as well. They say it is designed for HD. I think they have technically been broadcasting in HD for a while, but the overall picture quality hasn't seemed as crisp as other HD programs. I'm hoping they upgrade some backend equipment to improve the HD quality. Here are a few pictures from several stations member's social media pages as well as a link to a time lapse. C Block 1566
It's not all that original, but that looks quite nice from those pictures. Just a few video displays and some simple shapes are all that's really needed. PTVNews 194
A reporter posted a tour of the new set to Instagram. Looks like they are already doing weather from the new set while still anchoring on the old one. PTVNews 194
I wonder if they painted that yellow strip or if it's just the lighting affecting how it looks.
