tvpirate05 1
Stay with me on this one... Back in the early-80s, it seems as if every TV show (esp. sitcoms) used this "stop-motion dissolve" effect. Here's some examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuzUgy-R1jY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4goqih_zsU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=453qzr5pCKM Is there a name for that process? The best I could come up with was stop-motion dissolve. I know that Calico Entertainment designed a lot of graphics similar to that, i.e. the Hour Magazine one. From what I've seen on Youtube, they were closely associated with Group W. Thanks in advance. newsie 11
Motionless-transition...I have no idea. You probably gave it a better name than I did. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1329-any-name-for-this/#findComment-11659 Share on other sites
MidnightJunkie 55
basically it's a camera zooming in on a still-store image, and is still used today-- i.e. when someone dies and they take a look back at his/her career and mark left on the world through still images. albeit it's used less frequently today; Not sure what the technical term for the process is called. blueflag 0
It's one of the neater effects you can do with primitive (by today's standards) equipment. The _Family Ties_ open looks like a camera shooting art cards, but for the _Mr Belvedere_ open, all you'd need is a still store and a DVE that can do a zoom. That Hour Magazine open brought back some memories -- Scanimate-tastic!
