Milwaukee: Channel 63 to offer Spanish-language news...

Milwaukee's Telemundo network station will launch a weeknight 10 p.m. newscast on July 2 that will include local news.

 

WYTU-LP (Channel 63) will provide Spanish-language coverage of news, weather and sports within Noticiero Telemundo, a network newscast. The newscast will include news provided by its sister station, Milwaukee CBS affiliate WDJT-TV (Channel 58).

 

 

Pablo Ibanez will anchor the new newscast. He has worked as a news anchor in Dallas, Sacramento, Calif., and Amarillo, Texas. Most recently, he was vice president of television operations for Bustos Media L.L.C., of Sacramento, which owns Milwaukee radio station WDDW-FM (104.7/ "LaGranD) and Azteca America network station WBWT-LP (Channel 38).

 

Alina Machado, who is a reporter on WDJT, will serve as the primary reporter for the Telemundo station's newscasts.

 

WYTU broadcasts its programming over the air as well as on cable systems in Milwaukee, Madison, Sheboygan, and surrounding communities.

 

The station is owned by Weigel Broadcasting of Chicago, which also owns WMLW (Channel 41) in Milwaukee.
