nbc9houston 22
KPRC Local 2 in Houston is celebrating its 65th anniversary today. They've been using previous logos in the lower right hand corner of their newscasts: http://www.click2houston.com/livestream-newscast/watch-local-2-news-livestream/23295120 More coverage (including the 40th anniversary special hosted by the late Ron Stone and all of KPRC's previous logos): http://www.click2houston.com/news/kprc-local-2-celebrates-our-65th-anniversary/28269590 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/13926-kprc-local-2s-parade-of-logos/ Share on other sites
TexasTVNews 1377
Only wish that KPRC was called NBC 2 and bring back News2Houston. With that said, Happy 65th Anniversary KPRC. eyewitness_news 5
Interesting how the "2" KPRC used in the 80s is the same one WESH currently uses. ToriElectra 292
That's because they both got John Christopher Burns remodels- KPRC in 1986, WESH in 1993. cbs2newengland 72
That's because they both got John Christopher Burns remodels- KPRC in 1986, WESH in 1993. That guy had some nice graphics that were ahead of it's time. And IIRC it wasn't CGI, mostly video effects with graphics designed on the Paintbox. It wasn't that simple to do back then, but my gawd was it so awesome looking. The bug was a nice touch. I wished a lot of stations would've done what KPRC did, just on the anniversary day. So many stations around this time are ether celebrating 60 or 65 years on the air. (WMTW up in Portland did a piece last month on their 60 years as they move to their new facilities as an example.) It's awesome to look forward but it's also very cool to reflect on any stations past (good or bad) to build on the future. And it looks cool now showing what a 70s logo would've looked like if CGs had the ability to do static bugs. jcburns 7
I had no idea KPRC was cycling through the old logos on their 65th. That's just great. And what nice things youall have said (for the most part) about my stuff. Much appreciated.
