fan of la tv 47
Word is that KTLA will extend the Sunday KTLA Morning News by one hour to run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. effective July 5th, 2015. TheRolyPoly 2415
Already posted a story on this on my changing newscasts blog. Plus, this was already mentioned on the "Out and About" thread. NEOMatrix 1299
That comes as no surprise seeing how the CW now fully handles the E/I requirements of its affiliates. The bigger question is, why KTLA doesn't pull a KMAX and delay One Magnificent Morning until 10AM on Saturday, run KTLA Morning News from 6-10AM, and maybe even split One Magnificent Morning into two days (Saturday and Sunday) if possible? According to Wikipedia, some stations do split the five-hour E/I between Saturday and Sunday. No idea which ones, but I guess it's possible. I wonder why Tribune's two other big CW stations don't offer much news on weekend mornings. WPIX does nothing. WGN has one hour at 6am, which is weird because they produce so much news Monday-Friday, and the morning show is arguably the flagship. I would think that CW's E/I block has to be the main thing that's holding both stations back, but KTLA seems to get around it.
