Emarsee 7 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Seems like KOMO is not the only one in Seattle getting a makeover, KIRO will be launching their new graphics (along with a new set and music) on October 3.
NEOMatrix 1307 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Looks like KIRO is dumping the "Eyewitness News" brand again. The logo isn't too bad but why do I get the feeling that the "Circle 7" was tacked on at the last minute?
ToriElectra 292 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Wow! That look is kickin'! They've finally dumped those moldy old Enforcer cuts, and with a new set to boot.
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 WSB, KOKI and KIRO are all Cox stations using that new Stephen Arnold Package along with WHTM being the non Cox station. Could this package be rolled out to ALL Cox stations this year?

plnewsfan 9 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 KIRO 7 newscasts should retain "Eyewitness News" name. It's one of KIRO's trademarks.
TennTV1983 807 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 WSB, KOKI and KIRO are all Cox stations using that new Stephen Arnold Package along with WHTM being the non Cox station. Could this package be rolled out to ALL Cox stations this year? Remains to be seen, but who knows at this point. Graphics-wise, interesting that they used angular elements of KIRO's Circle 7 logo for the overall look. The package would have to be modified slightly if Cox were to use it at their other stations. The logo isn't too bad but why do I get the feeling that the "Circle 7" was tacked on at the last minute? It does look kinda off-centered horizontally, and probably would've looked better had they nudged it upward slightly (lining the 7 part of the logo up with the call letters instead of the circle).
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 KIRO 7 newscasts should retain "Eyewitness News" name. It's one of KIRO's trademarks. KIRO 7 has had a branding mess throughout its history. It used to have "(KIRO/Channel 7) Eyewitness News," then "KIRO News," then "KIRO News Network," then "NewsChannel 7," then back to "KIRO 7 Eyewitness News" and now "KIRO 7 News." For god sake, even KOMO 4 (either "KOMO 4 News" or "KOMO News 4" since the 70s), KING 5 ("NewsCenter 5," then "KING 5 News") and KCPQ 13 ("Q13 Reports," then "Q13 FOX News") have had less branding changes than KIRO 7.
Casey Buck 35 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Isn’t it me, or does that sort of resemble KOIN’s current logo?
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Isn’t it me, or does that sort of resemble KOIN’s current logo? Not that anything is original these days, Things get thrown around and mashed up to create a look
atlnews2 596 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Isn’t it me, or does that sort of resemble KOIN’s current logo? I see similarity to KIRO's sister stations WHIO
atlnews2 596 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I find interesting that Cox is rolling out this theme across multiple stations. I hope it isn't a mandate. I also find it interesting that it seems like every Cox station is rolling out new stuff except WSB
ProduceGuy 31 Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 With the blue and gold, I'm getting a Hearst vibe.
wac_suyaru 3 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 KIRO is rolling out new graphics to their twitter and facebook pages. Their livestream also received an updated graphics
