FirstNews8 13 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I believe WJLA switched to AccuWeather from WeatherCentral? Usually it is the other way around. I think WJLA-TV made a mistake here. I honestly dont like AccuWeather weather systems, I think WeatherCentral and WSI both give out the best products.
who?cares 255 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 If it was AccuWeather it would have the AccuWeather Logo on it, and from what i can tell that doesn't.
FirstNews8 13 Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Most likely WJLA didnt buy the AccuWeather franchise name, that is why...here i sa link to the page about that. http://www.accuweather.com/adc2004/pub/products_services/franchise.asp?partner=accuweather&header=m
YoungstownTV 0 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Speaking of AccuWeather, does KDKA still use it?
who?cares 255 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Speaking of AccuWeather, does KDKA still use it? i just watch a video of kdka, and it looks like they have some AccuWeather Maps.
jestbiteme 13 Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 If it was AccuWeather it would have the AccuWeather Logo on it, and from what i can tell that doesn't. No it wouldn't. There's a difference between buying an AccuWeather system, like Galileo, and co-branding with AccuWeather. The latter would get you the name, like when KDKA was "The AccuWeather Advantage." The former just gets you the system, like what Sinclair was doing with NewsCentral. Those maps are definitely AccuWeather. Yes, KDKA still uses AccuWeather, but they have downplayed the "AccuWeather" name in favor of the term "local forecast."
Tyler 151 Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I'm still hoping KDKA changes to a partnership with The Weather Channel, as the CBS O&O's in NYC and DFW have. I dislike AccuWeather...
