Dr. Max Gomez is now a fleelance medical reporter at WCBS 2. I just saw his report (via WCBS-TV.com) on the Summer Heat. Were you guys aware of this?

I think last week, he was on CBS2 This Morning reporting and Kate said he would now be with them, I'm guessing reporting in the morning since Dr. Holly Phillips is there.

They gave him a heck of a CBS2 style haircut too! I enjoyed the way he reported and am glad to see him back on the air. WNBC made a mastake dumping him.

Why is that a surprise? they have several NY veterans. This is Dr. Max's second stint at 2, he left WNBC for WCBS on his own once before. Didn't the Daily News report this weeks ago?

Oh jeeze. "Dr." Max is ok, but I just think there needs to be a disclaimer about him not being a medical doctor since he reports on medical and health topics. He's a Ph.D.

I believe it is a health-related field in which he earned has doctorate. I just think, however, that when viewers are watching a segment on medical or health issues, and the person presenting the report is called "Dr." they assume he is a medical doctor, which he is not.

 

But perhaps I'm being overly petty....
