Most are unsurprising, but let's take a look: Cable, satellite, IPTV subscribers are dropping 1% a year. (A good majority of Canadians are still paying for pay-TV) Private TV industry lost $121 million in 2016, and $719 million over the last 5 years. Radio made $436 million in profit. Subscriptions and on-demand television made $1 billion in profit last year. Bell Media (CTV and CTV Two): $33M loss Corus Entertainment (Global): $43M loss Rogers Media (Citytv and Omni): $35M loss, of which $24M is from City stations except SCN Quebecor Media (TVA [French]): $0.7M profit Remstar (V [French]): $2M profit Rogers gets $8.9 million a year from distant signal retransmission royalties for Citytv and Omni.
