panewswatcher69 28 Posted February 19, 2018 Share Posted February 19, 2018 How is Live with Kelly and Ryan accommodating Ryan's Los Angeles American Idol tapings and live shows? After Kelly and Ryan's Bahama shows the week of February 5th, Ryan was in LA later in the week for American Idol. On Friday morning, February 9th, Kelly and Ryan were back in New York with a general show that you could tell was pre-recorded from the opening conversations. On Monday morning, February 12th, Kelly and Ryan were live once again from New York as Ryan made references to his visit to LA. This past Friday, February 16th, Kelly and Ryan seemed to be airing another pre-recorded show as the show was very general and seemed edited. Is Live taping shows ahead of schedule during the upcoming weeks with American Idol's live shows? After the Thursday live broadcast, the audience stays put, the hosts do a very fast wardrobe change, and they tape the Friday show. It would not be unusual for them to do that during Idol to accommodate Ryan's schedule. After the ratings period ends, they might return to Friday shows live with rotating guest hosts. But taping a Friday show in advance is very common for many shows. For instance, all the late night talk shows tape their Friday shows on Thursday, all year round. BTW, don't for a minute think he's criss-crossing the country flying commercial. Disney is absolutely providing a corporate jet for the shuttle. (Unless he already has his own, and Disney is picking up the tab.) I think once Kelly was given an EP title during the Strahan/GMA fallout, the Friday change happened.
