Kyra Phillips Leaves CNN for ABC

In contrast to their trend over the last few years of hiring correspondents early in their careers, ABC has hired mid-career Kyra Phillips to be based in DC. She was an anchor and investigative reporter at CNN.

 

My guess? She'll be positioned to replace Brian Ross as investigative lead. She's already noted on Twitter that at ABC she'll be an investigative correspondent. Plus, you might recall that after Ross returned from his suspension, he was moved to Lincoln Square Productions.
