John2016 7 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Why in recent years, have stations put more news programs on the air? I am assuming it's cheaper to produce and as long as advertisers are willing to sponsor the news, the stations would program it. At what point would there be too much news on local tv stations here in Los Angeles? Most of the news are just recycled news from earlier newscast.

At what point would there be too much news on local tv stations here in Los Angeles? When ad sales decrease to the point that it's no longer profitable.
John2016 7 Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 The main reason why stations are putting more news is that it's profitable now, while putting on reruns of other programs are not profitable or as profitable. So, if putting on reruns of programs are not profitable, what will replace news when the news are not being profitable for the stations?
