Legendary WPLG anchor and reporter Kristi Krueger will soon turn the page on her career.

 

After 33 years of anchoring behind a desk, Kristi will be giving up her anchoring role at WPLG, which is currently the noon, 3:00, 4:30, and 5:30 newscasts.

 

However, she will remain for the station's health reports under her Healthcast branding that she's also been known for in Miami for so long now and she'll be doing that two days a week while she gets to enjoy life in semi-retirement the other five days of the week.

Ever since Joyce Garbaciak stepped down from anchoring in May 2024 at WISN 12, she became their contributor/special projects correspondent.

 

However, tomorrow, for the first time in two years, she'll be back tomorrow on the anchor desk to fill in while Blake Eason and Diana Gutiérrez cover Summerfest for WISN with field anchoring.

She's going into the marketing / communications space but away from the daily TV news grind.
