PelicanGuy 117
CNN, Nancy Grace want lawsuit dismissed in suicide by mom of missing toddler August 08, 2007 22:43 EDT OCALA, Fla. (AP) -- Lawyers for CNN and Nancy Grace have asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses the TV host of pushing the mother of a missing toddler to suicide through aggressive questioning. The network and Grace argue in court documents that the wrongful death lawsuit brought by Melinda Duckett's family would "severely chill" the ability of journalists to cover missing-persons cases. Duckett was on Grace's show a year ago after her son went missing from her apartment. Grace accused the woman of hiding something because Duckett did not take a lie-detector test and answered vaguely regarding her whereabouts. Police later named Duckett the prime suspect in the boy's disappearance. Duckett shot and killed herself the day the taped interview was scheduled to broadcast. The boy, who would turn three on Friday, has not been found. http://www.wlos.com/template/inews_wire/wires.national/35b5a197-www.wlos.com.shtml Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/1795-nancy-grace-cnn-asks-lawsuit-to-be-dismissed/ Share on other sites
