Anthony Buchanan 1
Well it’s been an year since WKBD (WWJ’s sister station) began airing local newscasts (produced by KTVT Dallas) after being out of the Detroit local news race for nearly 15 years (when it was being canceled by Viacom). But apparently, it seems like there’s an video that was being posted on Vimeo just recently, in which CBS Television Stations is apparently looking for an group of MSJs that will likely report/file news stories from across Detroit and even Lansing for its upcoming CBSN Detroit service. However, that really being me so many questions surrounding this new venture. Will CBS actually relaunch WWJ’s news department (after being canceled for almost 20 years) at some point? Will it be able to fully compete against WDIV, WWJ and WJBK in the ratings race? Will it be able to heavily expand its presence on social media? Will it be able to target an specific type of audience and will it be produced either locally or from an nearby CBS O&O station? Only time will truly tell….
