who?cares 254
It looks like WAFF in Huntsville is the latest Gray station to have their Raycom set demolished. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/18508-waff-new-set/ Share on other sites
tyrannical bastard 3948
Hopefully this means the end of the 2010's era FX sets as they are nearing a decade. They just seemed cheap at the time and aged even more poorly. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/18508-waff-new-set/#findComment-265580 Share on other sites
who?cares 254
WAFF's studio is very small. It'll be interesting to see what they do with it. There's an old server room behind the studio they could possibly expand to. The building was once a three business strip mall housing a jewelry store, mattress business, and the Boy's and Girl's Club. The building has ceilings that are just a tad higher than normal business drop ceilings. Considering it's origins as the site that the station moved to after their devastating 1982 fire, it's amazing that it has lasted this long, even as technology has gotten smaller and allowed for more space to be used in a smaller space. Here's a link to a documentary that shows the fire, the aftermath, and the transformation of the space into their current facility. https://youtu.be/JwO1cCY3xKQ?t=746 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/18508-waff-new-set/#findComment-265583 Share on other sites

who?cares 254
Today is launch day at WAFF. https://www.waff.com/2021/12/08/new-set-unveiled-waff-48-news/?fbclid=IwAR3KzCzuYCEbcVcWQTUbxVJ9CyIEpL-rJgO4qljyZNU8xWHCllwmx-AWVtA I’m interested in how they made the studio larger. The only thing I can think of is they took over a green room or server space.
