Watching the fire coverage, saw the meterologist doing her report from in front of what looks like an old set - has the control room duratran and wood side elements.

 

I thought they shipped the prior set off to a station in Texas.

 

Or is it just a corner of the newsroom from a prior era and repurposed duratran?

That's a corner of the newsroom. They put that duratran/mural up several years ago. It wasn't repurposed from any set piece. The original weather center shot framing wasn't super HD-friendly, so they moved the camera and desk back and filled the wall with that duratran.
