mbhcity 3 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Myfoxla.com reports tonight that longtime Los Angeles News Anchor, reporter, and environmentalist "Earthman" David Garcia has died at Eisenhower Hospital after a long battle with a liver ailment. He was 63. He started his career in Texas and anchored/reported at channels 2 and 4 during the 1980s. In 1993, KTTV hired him as a environmental reporter where he gained his role as the "earthman" reporting from many different parts of the world, from the Amazon to the state and national parks across the USA. He was very respected for his works and won many honors. He retired from his reporting duties at KTTV in 2001, and was last seen filing reports for California Connected, a news magazine produced by KCET for PBS stations accross California. News4LA 0 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I remember him when he was doing his reports on the Channel 4 News. In fact this morning on Good Day LA, Steve Edwards said that NBC4's Fred Roggin orignally gave him the "Earthman" name.
