Called to Iraq

Has any anchors and/or reporters in your respective market(s) been called to active duty in Iraq since it's inception in 2003?

WVUE reporter Patrick Evans, a public affairs officer with the Naval reserve, has just been called up to serve in Baghdad's Green Zone for up to 2 years, starting in early to mid-September.

Wishing him the best over there.

EDIT: Times-Picayune story.

Right after the war started, KHOU's Greg Hurst went over to Iraq to report. He might have gone back a second time, I don't really remember if he did or not, but I know he was over there once for sure.

I'm also willing to bet KTRK's Art Rascon has been over there as well. They typically send him overseas or to other countries to report.

No, sir.

Read the question.

"Has [sic] any anchors and/or reporters in your respective market(s) been called to active duty in Iraq since it's inception [sic] in 2003?"

Not if anyone's gone over to report.

We're wondering if anyone's gone over as part of a military deployment.

As for Philly: not that I know of.
