someguy 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I've posted KSAZ's new 9:00 open. Due to circumstances explained in the video description, I had to unfortunately record it off screen. Here it is anyway:
first on fox 18 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 HM, interesting. DO they not use the FOX music pkg? ...just sounds?
Weeters 1969 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 HM' date=' interesting. DO they not use the FOX music pkg? ...just sounds?[/quote'] There's music there....
first on fox 18 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 There's music there.... Is it me or it doesnt sound very..FOXy?
someguy 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 They appear to mainly be using their old theme (Fusion News) with bits and pieces of the Fox O&O music (as heard when the LIVE bit plays).
TennTV1983 807 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 So that just leaves KTBC as the only Fox O&O not to go HD yet. That would also make them the last station in Austin to make the switch, wouldn't it?
Hickman360 21 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 KTBC did go HD and have the new graphics I saw their news online
Que 73 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I like KSAZ's OTS graphics a lot better than the globe version most of the FOX stations use.
TennTV1983 807 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I like KSAZ's OTS graphics a lot better than the globe version most of the FOX stations use. WHBQ uses them too.
rv65 3 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 NBC's DC studio has gone HD. I believe it's shared with WRC. So I think WRC-TV will go HD soon.
Newshawk 2 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 KFOR 4, NBC, in Oklahoma City, OK started producing their newscasts in HD as of July 11th.
caliwxdude 254 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 According to a post and corroborating screen shot over at AVS Forum, WCTV (CBS) in Tallahassee has also made the transition to high-definition newscasts, second in the market after WTXL.
semistatic 0 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 According to AVS forums (and their bug) - WIFR news (Rockford) is now in HD
NewsMan 0 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Brownsville TX is getting another HD newscast. KGRV is going HD next week according to what the morning new co-anchor told me. New set, and Graphics, but no new music. He told me it will blow KVEO out of the water! No word on if there sister station will ever go HD in Baton Rouge.
PTVNews 196 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 KATU news is now in HD! [YT]PP0L1K1v2m4[/YT]
TennTV1983 807 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Apparently WAWS/WTEV in Jacksonville went HD today as well, according to this: http://flnewscenter.com/?p=390

Ntropolis 599 Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 KTWO in Casper, WY started HD news this month. http://broadcastengineering.com/eng/ktwo-transitions-hd-news-jvc-gy-hm700-camcorders-0825/
Newshawk 2 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I just noticed that the Oklahoma News Report, produced by the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), is being broadcast in widescreen. The only thing I can't tell is if it is in HD or 480p ED. I'm not sure, but could this be the first public TV station doing newscasts in a widescreen format? Edit: At the sign-off, they said the newscast IS in HD!
TennTV1983 807 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Somebody may have to check this, but I recently watched some news video from WCNC in Charlotte and noticed that, in addition to new graphics, they're doing their stuff in widescreen format. Does anyone who lives in that area know if they're broadcasting in HD or 16:9 SD?
Ntropolis 599 Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 Hey, do we have tables on here? Or is there a way to install them? I think that would be a heck lot easier to read than the cluttered list we have right now.
