TexasTVNews 1378 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I want to remind you all that tonight it's Lisa Foronda's last newscast at Channel 11 tonight at 10pm (KHOU)
HoustonNews 0 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I hope someone recorded it. I am out of town at the moment and didn't get to see it. They had a female lead anchor here in Jackson, MS retire recently too; WJTV's Melanie Christopher.
WXmanTim 88 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Shame she is leaving...I really liked her. She and Greg Hurst made a good pair and she's probably one of the main reasons KHOU is neck-and-neck with KTRK. Any word on who is replacing her? As for Melanie Christopher...I saw that in the Clarion-Ledger a couple weeks ago. I've only seen one WJTV newscast, and it was a weekend show. Up here in Starkville, we get WAPT-16 on our cable system, but none of the other Jackson stations. Interesting that Christopher was teaching and interviewed for a part-time reporter that she saw advertised in the C-L back in the mid-80s. Sure don't see stations doing that much anymore.
HoustonTVNews 0 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I saw it, and I have to say there really wasn't all that much to talk about. Maybe a short :20-:30 farewell at the end of the 10PM Newscast and a blurb earlier on Great Day Houston but that was all...
HoustonNews 0 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The video is on the website. Check out KHOU.com to see it.
