TSSZNews 1051
The demo numbers in Boston paint a different picture...it's how WHDH can claim #1 at both 6p and 11p. All in all, just about everyone BUT Fox 25 has something to be happy with this book. -T Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/2473-november-sweeps-numbers/#findComment-23489 Share on other sites
NewsMan 0
5am-6am WCVB (1.5/10) WFXT (1.4/9) WBZ (1.3/9) WHDH (1.2/8) WCVB has been leading in the morning for a while, this is the only time slot where WHDH is in 3rd, and this is WBZ's 2nd best time slot. WFXT does pretty well in the mornings. There all very close to each other. 6am-7am WCVB (3.5/15) WHDH (3.0/13) WFXT (2.2/10) WBZ (2.1/9) WCVB same, WHDH does a lot better at 6AM, WFXT same, WBZ is very close to WFXT. Noon WCVB (4.0/16) WHDH (2.8/11) WBZ (2.4/9) WCVB has done well at noon for a while, WHDH and WBZ can't catch up. 5pm-6pm WCVB (6.4/14) WHDH (4.2/9) WBZ (3.6/8) WFXT (0.9/2) WCVB always does well from 5-6, WHDH and WBZ can't catch up. WFXT numbers are pitful they need to program for a different slot, those are the lowest of any newscast in Boston. 6pm-6:30pm WCVB (7.1/14) WHDH (6.1/12) WBZ (3.5/7) WCVB may be leading at 6 and has been for a while but with the departure of Natalie Jacobson the ratings have dropped, and WHDH has been waiting in the winds and can easily win the 6PM slot. WBZ is not a threat at the moment. 9pm-9:30pm WSBK (1.0/2) Nothing notable. Other than 2nd lowest ratings of any newscast in Boston though it did beat WFXT's 5PM Newscast lowest newscast in Boston. 10pm-11pm WFXT (4.9/9) WLVI (1.3/2) WFXT has been leading for a while at 10 : ???, while WLVI with its WHDH produced newscast struggles. BTW: I watch WLVI at 10. What else is notable is that WFXT's 10PM numbers actually beat there 11PM numbers, plus WBZ from 5-6:30PM, and WHDH from 5-6PM. 11pm-11:30pm WBZ (6.6/14) WHDH (6.4/14) WCVB (5.4/12) WFXT (2.7/6) I am really shocked by this. WBZ won a slot for the first time in years. It was probably because of how hot CBS is right now. WHDH fell from 1st to 2nd but are very close especially with NBC in the crapper right now. WCVB has its worse numbers in years, this is there only slot in 3rd, they were in 2nd before and going back and forth with WHDH for first at 11PM. WFXT is brand new in the slot so I have no opinion. WAVY 10 Fan 233
Also realize that WAVY is strong at 10 DESPITE weak NBC and WTKR gets the primo CBS lead in yet puts up pitiful numbers.... Except for WAVY moving up to 2nd at noon, all one would have to do is change the numbers and it would be the same old usual stuff. Sources: Nielsen Media Research; The Washington Post Yes, group, you read that correctly. For the first time in a decade, WJLA knocked WRC off its late night perch, thanks to lead-ins such as "Dancing With the Stars." Also of benefit to WJLA, according to some executives, is the WGA strike: "The Late Show" and "The Tonight Show" are in reruns, while new episodes of "Nightline" continue to air; however, ABC 7 president Fred Ryan discounted this argument.
