Houston: Newsblues is reporting that an Atlanta weather guesser to replace KHOU Chief Meteorologist Dr. Neil Frank, and I don't know who it is.

San Antonio: FTVLive and Newsblues is also reporting that Veteran San Antonio anchor gets the boot.

Now, I'm not a member of both of these sites, but would someone give us any information either of these details?

Don't know anything about H-Town, but here in S.A..............

Veteran WOAI-TV anchor Tanji Patton is leaving the station after 17 years. Her last newscast will be December 14th at 6:00. The station chose not to renew her contract.

It has been speculated for awhile now that she was on her way out. Something clearly isn't working at WOAI and they have done just about everything but replace talent, so everyone in the market expected something to happen as the new management started arriving last year. Randy Beamer should be safe for a few more years - word is he signed a new five year contract two years ago.

Too bad for Tanji - I've met her several times at various functions. Really nice and very personable. Kept very involved in the community. Its a big loss for the folks down on Navarro. :(

Yesterday it was noted that Gene Norman, former KTRK weekend meteorologist, was set to join KRIV-26-Fox...but today's posting said they (Newsblues) had made an error and that he was going to KHOU to replace Dr. Neil Frank, who is retiring in January.

Norman left ABC-13 in 2000 to replace David Weatherbee as Chief Meteorologist at WGCL.

Good for KHOU...I've always liked Gene Norman and missed him on the weekends at ABC-13.

Dr. Neil Frank, who is retiring in January.

so, is he retiring not to leave any trace, or is he gonna do like what Troy Dungan did at WFAA?

For those of you who don't know, Troy Dungan has retired off-camera @ WFAA, but he will still be working for the station.

I've just gotten an e-mail from KHOU's Greg Hurst. And it reads I quote:

"Yes indeed, you have good sources. Gene Norman will be coming on board when Neil retires,

perhaps sometime next year. Neil will still be providing us with his expertise during hurricane

season, but the addition of Gene will allow Doc to spend a little more time with his family".

I thanks Greg Hurst for the information.
