Should NBC Adopt FOX Model?

I don't see this happening. Two of the (many) reasons Fox adopted that model in the first place was that (1) most of their (then new) affiliates ran movies in the 8/7c slot followed by news (mostly on what became the Fox Television Stations group, though a few other stations like KTVU and KSTW [maybe?] had primetime news as well) and (2) they didn't have enough programming in the beginning to fill three hours when they were still trying to fill two or three nights per week.

Wikipedia (take with a grain of salt) says one of the reasons was the regulatory environment when Fox began. By limiting the number of primetime hours, Fox could claim to not actually be a network, but a group of stations airing the same programming. Though honestly, this is similar to my supposition above, so I'll leave both. ;)

By the time FOX went full-time in 1993, many more of their affiliates had signed on with newscasts and the existing newscasts were far to entrenched as to make a change.
